Search teams in California’s rugged Sierra National Forest are intensifying efforts to locate 27-year-old Tiffany Slaton, a solo camper from Georgia who has been missing for nearly three weeks in the Huntington Lake and Shaver Lake area.
Slaton, a traveling dialysis technician and avid outdoorswoman, was last seen on or around April 24. She had reportedly taken time off after completing a contract in Oregon to explore nature and fulfill a bucket-list goal of visiting a hot spring.
Her parents, Bobby and Fredrina Slaton, say she was participating in a workaway farm program before heading out solo with her green/gray tent, an electric bike, and a stroller—all of which remain unaccounted for.
“We’re a camping family. She doesn’t know a time when we weren’t out in nature,” her father said. “We just think she’s made a wrong turn, maybe even had a bike accident or twisted her ankle.”

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office is leading the investigation, with search efforts joined by the Madera County Search and Rescue Team. MCSO OHV SAR Sergeant Thomas and Deputy Chambers are now assisting on the ground.
Tiffany’s last known contact with her family was April 20. It wasn’t until April 29—after she missed an appointment—that her parents reported her missing. They initially weren’t alarmed by the silence, noting that Tiffany often disconnects from her phone to focus on training her archery students.
“She has several students,” Bobby Slaton explained. “I was sending texts to her about one of them, but it wasn’t uncommon not to hear back right away.”
Now, the family is desperate for any clue to her whereabouts.
“We don’t know what the outcome is. We don’t know what’s going on,” said her mother, Fredrina. “If anybody sees her, wherever—just let her know people are looking for her. She may not even know people are looking for her.”
A GoFundMe has been set up to help support the family’s ongoing search efforts, which now span two counties and involve both aerial and ground searches.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office at (559) 600-3111.
