Kandi Burruss, a “Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA)” veteran, is siding with former castmate Kenya Moore after producers abruptly halted Moore’s filming for the show’s 16th season and fired her.

The controversy started earlier this year when allegations surfaced that Moore had shared explicit content of RHOA newcomer Brittany Eady. The incident brought Kenya Moore under intense scrutiny, resulting in her indefinite suspension from the show, which she has been a part of since season five.

Despite the controversy, Kandi Burruss is supporting her friend.

“Our friend Kenya is leaving one of her platforms, the Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Kandi Burruss began in the video. “You guys know I was already going to leave at the top of the year, and I had already made that decision for myself, but unfortunately, my girl Kenya was part of the season, and then there was an incident that happened.”

Burruss emphasized that, while the allegations against Moore are serious, it is important to recognize that such incidents can occur in the heat of the moment.

Burruss continued, “I wasn’t there. I can’t give you details of what happened, but it makes me sad. You know I’m not lying about how I feel because she is my friend; I do love her. I do not know the other young lady, so this is not a diss to her.”

“It’s just simply, I just feel like. I know she (Kenya) goes far sometimes, and I get it. But I have never known her to make up anything about anybody. And suppose things are out there about you, usually on a reality show. In that case, unfortunately, people are able to pull up things that you’ve done and share them. Not to say it’s always a nice thing to do, but it happens.”

Before ending her video, Burruss also noted that Moore has been an integral part of the show and that axing her equals marks the “end of an era.”
