Boots Riley, the visionary director behind Sorry to Bother You, is set to return with his sophomore film I Love Boosters.
The upcoming movie boasts an impressive cast, including Keke Palmer, Naomi Ackie, LaKeith Stanfield, and Demi Moore, and will be produced and financed by Neon.
I Love Boosters follows a group of enterprising shoplifters—also known as “boosters”—as they target a ruthless fashion mogul.
While much of the plot remains under wraps, Riley’s distinct style promises a unique blend of sharp social commentary and surrealist elements, much like his previous work.
Principal photography is set to begin this fall, with additional casting still underway.
The film will be produced by Aaron Ryder and Andrew Swett for Ryder Picture Company, alongside Allison Rose Carter and Jon Read from Savage Rose Films.
Executive producers include Mike Jackman, Gus Deardoff, Ken Kao, and Josh Rosenbaum, with Neon representing worldwide sales.
Keke Palmer, fresh off her role in Jordan Peele’s Nope and as host of Password, is also set to release her book Master of Me in November.
Naomi Ackie recently starred in Zoe Kravitz’s Blink Twice and will appear in Mickey 17 alongside Robert Pattinson.
LaKeith Stanfield, a regular collaborator with Riley, has several upcoming projects, including Lear Rex with Al Pacino and Play Dirty.
Demi Moore continues her Hollywood resurgence, having starred in The Substance and FX’s Feud: Capote vs. The Swans.
Neon aims for a U.S. theatrical release, and fans of Riley’s bold style are eagerly awaiting the film’s debut.
