Kysre Gondrezick has just made history as Playboy’s Miss June 2025, marking her as the first Black professional athlete to appear in the magazine’s illustrious pages.

At just 26 years old, the former WNBA player and 2021 first-round draft pick is boldly redefining what it means to be a contemporary athlete. Kysre Gondrezick is strong, self-assured, and fully in control of her image.

Previously a guard for the Chicago Sky, she last played during the 2024 WNBA season before stepping away from the game. Though her on-court scoring stats were modest, she’s now achieving significant milestones off the court.

Earlier this week, Playboy introduced its 2025 Playmate lineup, and fans quickly noticed Kysre featured among the cover models. The images, showcasing her confidently lounging on a vivid orange pool float, went viral in an instant.

In a statement accompanying her feature, Kysre expressed that her path is an evolution. “What people label as a transition, I embody as evolution,” she shared. “I’m not stepping outside who I am. I’m building a multidimensional brand.”

Kysre Gondrezick is serious about her newfound direction, as she has been branching out into modeling and entrepreneurship since leaving basketball. She has also attracted attention for her rumored relationship with NBA star Jaylen Brown, although she remains focused on her personal journey.

“Becoming a WNBA player and reaching that level requires immense effort,” she said. “You must exert even more effort to maintain that status.”

While some may be surprised that Playboy is still around, the publication has undergone a digital transformation in recent years, embracing inclusivity, artistry, and the idea of women reclaiming their stories.
