LisaRaye McCoy took to Instagram Saturday to share that her mother, Katie McCoy has died.
“I’m numb. I lost my mother last night. It was expected but never could I prepare.”

Upon reading the news, family, friends and fans began to flood her comment section, sending words of love and condolences.
“I’m so sorry. I just lost my father. It’s super tough. I’m sending my sincere condolences and prayers to you and your family,” wrote DJ Suss One.
“Prayers Up QUEEN! Stay Strong! #RestInPeace #RESTINPARADISE,” actress and co-host Vivica Fox shared.
Real Housewives of Atlanta reality star Cynthia Bailey wrote, “I am so deeply sorry Lisa Raye. my prayers are with you and your family.”
And singer and Love and Hip Hop star Brooke Valentine shared her well wishes stating “Love you LRaye …she was a pleasure every time I saw her. I’ll be continuing to pray for the fam.”
“She was a very special lady and will be truly missed,” actress Kym Whitley chimed in.
In 2020, LisaRaye opened up about the past trauma she and her mother faced during a taping of Iyanla: Fix My Life, which showed the progressive journey to healing that has allowed the mother-daughter duo to become a stronger unit.
LisaRaye recently became emotional while discussing the relationship with her father, who she lost in 1988 after he was murdered by his then-girlfriend.
