Former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star has been under the microscope after stepping out with her new boyfriend.
Some have been supportive of NeNe moving on so quickly, but others have been critical of her seemingly lightning-fast relationship.
Speaking to The Shade Room, NeNe says her late husband gave her his blessing to date again.
“We’re dating! We’re friends,” she told the outlet.
“I will love Gregg forever & ever! Grieving is hard! Even harder & depressing alone,” she told TSR. “Gregg and I had a very tearful conversation before his passing. His words to me were ‘be happy, keep smiling and he who finds you, has found a good one.'”
Earlier this month, video footage of NeNe and her new bae surfaced online.
In the clip, NeNe sits as her new bae holds her hands affectionately. There was also a photo of the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star snuggled up closely with the gentleman. The Neighborhood Talk captured a screenshot of NeNe’s new man posing in a shorts and shirt combo beachside.
“I like all of it,” NeNe commented under the pic, along with a heart emoji.
Her husband, Gregg Leakes, died “peacefully” on Sept. 1. Gregg was diagnosed with colon cancer in June of 2018 and NeNe took care of him throughout his battle.
“For people saying she’s moving on too fast, if you have never lost a spouse, then you really can’t form a realistic opinion. Only judgment, and some of you REALISTICALLY ain’t got the room to do so. Wishing her all the healing and happiness ❤️🩹” one NeNe supporter wrote.
However, popular vlogger Tasha K did not agree: “WTF did tell yall! Greg was an insurance check only! See yall tomorrow night on the channel! We got wine to spill!🥂🥂🥂”
