Marsha Kearney, the mother of NFL star Rashee Rice, has been at the center of recent legal trouble after being accused of multiple instances of theft.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Kearney was arrested earlier this year on charges of stealing, months before being allegedly caught on camera in a separate incident just this past Sunday, September 29th.
Kearney, who was charged with a misdemeanor theft on March 27th, had allegedly stolen over 40 items from a man’s home.
The items reportedly included household goods such as food, tumblers, laundry products, merchandise, and socks. Although these charges were dropped after she fulfilled unspecified conditions, her legal woes didn’t end there.
In the latest controversy, video footage captured by a ring camera appears to show Kearney stealing a package from an apartment complex while wearing her son Rashee Rice’s NFL jersey.
The footage, which has since gone viral on social media, shows a woman resembling Kearney circling back to check if she’s being watched before bending down and walking away with what appears to be a package.
The package reportedly contained two limited-edition vinyl records purchased from Urban Outfitters.
Despite attempts by the victim to resolve the matter with Kearney and the apartment complex, the situation remains unresolved.
Police are still investigating the incident, and as of now, neither Kearney nor Rashee Rice have made any public statements regarding the accusations.
Rice, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, suffered a potentially season-ending injury during Sunday’s game.
It remains unclear how these legal issues involving his mother might impact his off-the-field focus and recovery.
