In a raw, unfiltered social media video, Paris Jackson revealed she has a perforated septum, a hole in the cartilage between her nostrils, caused by drug use in her early 20s.

The 27-year-old singer is peeling back the curtain on one of the most painful and permanent reminders of her years battling addiction. It’s something she says fans have unknowingly heard before.

“I realized I never addressed this, and it can sometimes be very noticeable,” Paris shared. “I have a really loud whistle because you can hear it when I breathe through my nose.”

Then, in a moment equal parts bold and vulnerable, she lifted her phone’s flashlight to her nostril, revealing a clear tunnel of light passing straight through. “It’s exactly where you think it’s from,” she added, acknowledging the damage linked to her former drug use.

Paris Jackson says she’s lived with the hole since she was about 20 years old. Though doctors have told her the condition can be surgically repaired, she refuses the option for one major reason because she doesn’t want to use pain medication. As someone recovering from alcoholism and heroin addiction, she doesn’t want anything that could risk a relapse.

“I don’t recommend (drugs) because it ruined my life,” she said firmly. “Don’t do drugs, kids.”

Then, she followed up, “Or do. Everyone is going to have the experience they need to have with life.”

The daughter of Michael Jackson has spoken openly about her mental health and addiction struggles for years. Back in January 2025, she revealed she had reached five years of sobriety, something she says saved her life.
