Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Tex.) didn’t mince words when describing Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio), Donald Trump’s running mate.

In a recent interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, Crockett called Vance a “weirdo” following resurfaced audio in which Vance criticized people without children, accusing them of trying to “brainwash” America’s youth.

“The guy is a weirdo, it’s really quite simple,” Crockett said, referencing Vance’s remarks from 2021 where he targeted Randi Weingarten, president of the American Federation of Teachers, for not having children of her own.

Crockett, who attended a Catholic middle school, pointed out that Vance’s logic would disqualify nuns from teaching.

Crockett linked Vance’s views to the extremist Project 2025 right-wing policy agenda, which she argued imposes narrow definitions of Christianity and family values.

Her dismissal of Vance as “weird” aligns with recent messaging from the left, which has ruffled feathers within the GOP, especially with Trump.

Trump recently responded to similar comments from Vice President Kamala Harris, insisting:

“We’re not weird. We’re very solid people… I think we’re the opposite of weird. They’re weird.”
