“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby is the latest cast member to receive a criminal charge.
Mary was recently charged with unlawfully providing shelter to a runaway and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
No further details have been provided, but it’s possible that the star could have received the charge for doing a good deed. She pleaded not guilty to both counts on June 28, 2021, the filings say.
“Mary is saddened that she was dragged into another family’s domestic situation,” a representative told E! News, “but is confident that this misunderstanding will be cleared up soon.”
The Bravo star is one of the more controversial members of the show. She has been married to her late grandmother’s second husband Robert Cosby Sr. for more than two decades and the couple share a teenage son named Robert Cosby Jr.
At first, Mary told the ladies that she did not want to marry him, but she was asked to.
“I did marry him. I didn’t want to … That’s weird to me. But [my grandmother] really did want me to, so I obeyed her. I trusted every word,” she said during an episode of the show.
But by the time the season one reunion came around, her story had changed.
“Well, my grandmother told me for herself that she wanted me to take her place,” she explained. She claimed that the couple prayed for two years on their decision to get married.
“So basically, Robert Sr. was 20 years younger than my grandmother,” she said. “My grandmother felt like she robbed his youth and so she said, ‘If something ever happens, I want you to marry one of my girls because I know they’ll be loyal to you and treat you good like you treated me.'”
Mary added that she “thinks” she’s in love with her husband.
