Serena Williams is ringing in the new year with a significant victory – fitting back into a designer skirt she set as a weight loss goal earlier this year.
The tennis icon finally fits into the designer denim skirt she has desired since beginning her journey to lose weight after giving birth.
The 43-year-old mother of two, who welcomed her second child, Adira, in August 2023, began this inspiring health mission in January 2024. Over the course of the year, Serena kept her followers updated on her journey through social media, showcasing once more why she’s not only a tennis legend but also an inspiring and relatable person.
After the arrival of her second daughter, Adira River, in August 2023, Serena established a clear and relatable objective: to fit into a designer Valentino denim skirt she had bought while she was pregnant.
On December 30, the founder of WYN Beauty announced that she had achieved her goal, posting a new video of herself wearing the skirt.
“I have an audience today for this big moment of will it or will it not fit,” she began. “I got this Valentino skirt when I was pregnant, and I was like, ‘I’m going to be able to fit this when I don’t have a belly. I can’t fit it, but this is my goal.'”
While she began to unbutton the skirt, Serena Williams insisted that it felt snug the last time she tried to fit into it. After lifting one side of the skirt to her waist, she remarked that the fit felt “much better already.”
Once she managed to pull the waistband over her hips and fasten the button and zipper, Serena Williams looked at her reflection in the mirror, even leaning down after her friend prompted her to “drop it like it’s hot.”
“It fits. An ounce more, it wouldn’t fit. I’m a Laffy Taffy or Skittle away from it not fitting,” she joked.
As the tennis icon moves into 2025, she’s ending this chapter on a high note, proving that goals, whether on the court or in life, are always within reach with determination and a little self-love.
And to Serena Williams, we say: congratulations, queen! Keep inspiring us all, one milestone at a time.
