Shaquille O’Neal’s latest comments about Angel Reese’s backside have stirred up some serious controversy. Shaq’s fantasy was not well received by Reese, and you could tell she was a little uneasy with how quickly she tried to move on.
Angel Reese recently announced that she would release her signature shoe in 2026. A key piece to that plan was Shaquille O’Neal, who, after getting the Reebok re-brand gig, developed a strong relationship with Reese during her time in Baton Rouge, walked her out on Senior Night, and then set goals to have her become “face” of the brand.
The 52-year-old NBA legend appeared on Reese’s podcast, ‘Unapologetically Angel,’ this week, pitching controversial ideas to help WNBA stars level the playing field and earn as much as their male counterparts.
As part of his suggestions, O’Neal mentioned an outfit the Chicago Sky star wore during an off-court appearance, claiming it could be successful as part of her business strategy.
“Bro, imagine you in those little ass shorts you had on at the Wild’n Out show, dunking. You know how many t-shirts you gonna sell, you trippin. What? What? Those same little ass shorts,” O’Neal said.
Angel Reese, caught slightly off guard by Shaq’s comment, didn’t seem eager to entertain the idea.
Reese appeared to roll her eyes, laugh uncomfortably, and say, “Oh my god.”
“What? The same little shorts you had on at Wild’ N Out …” O’Neal continued before Reese attempted to cut him off and change the topic.
Laughing it off, she responded, “I’m not imagining… Alright, alright!” trying to move the conversation along.
Fans took everything left and didn’t find the exchange funny, accusing the NBA Hall of Famer of being creepy with Reese, whom he took under his wing because they both attended LSU.
A fan added, “This generation doesn’t play, lol… we calling out creeps and not giving them any more passes!!”
“Y’all really think a MAN being A MAN is creepy?? Grow up‼️ 😂😂 She only doing that because it’s Shaq, but if it was a dude she was attracted to, she would be blushing‼️ Please,” another commented.
