A star for a queen of the big screen!
Congratulations to Taraji P. Henson for earning a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
The 48 year-old Academy Award nominee shared emotions with the fans while thanking them for their support. “I keep looking at that star, going, ‘Is this real?’ You know I’ve imagined it and here it is,” Henson said.
Henson mentioned her long walk to fame, and what she did to get to this extraordinary achievement. She packed up and moved her son to Los Angeles with $700 in her pocket to pursue her dreams.
Recording star turned actor and close friend Mary J. Blige was there to help honor Henson’s contributions to Hollywood. She stated, “She’s helped me through so many things and brought sunshine to my darkest days.”
“I want to be around forever, Henson declared during her speech. “I want to break through glass ceilings when they tell women over 40 that, ‘Ah, you’re done.”
Taraji P. Henson is just hitting her stride. She’ll most likely be slaying the red carpet at this year’s Oscars, since she also stars in the Academy Award nominated animated film Ralph Breaks The Internet. Taraji P. Henson is the true definition of Black girl magic!
