On Aug. 23, 2009, the quiet routine of a Sunday morning turned into a nightmare when the beloved minister failed to greet her congregation at Christ Holy Sanctified Church. Friends who arrived to locked doors sensed something was terribly wrong. What they found inside would haunt the community forever.
Daniels, 61, was discovered brutally murdered inside the small sanctuary where she preached every week. According to investigators, her body was mutilated, stabbed repeatedly, nearly decapitated, and set on fire. In a chilling detail, she was left nude and posed in a way that suggested a ritualistic killing.
The violence of the crime, committed just a block away from the Anadarko Police Department, sent shockwaves through the town and beyond. Despite years of investigation by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI), no arrests have ever been made.

“She was committed, she was faithful, and she was loved,” said a fellow pastor in Anadarko. “For something like this to happen to her — it shook us all.”
Her murder left many fearful for their safety, and for some, disillusioned with how the case was handled.
“It was brushed under the table,” said one resident. “But we still want closure.”

The church where the killing took place sits on a well-traveled street, surrounded by houses, a place where someone should have seen or heard something. Yet still, no clear answers have emerged.
