The comedian was arrested for the second time in two years after sleeping behind the wheel while driving.
Tiffany Haddish is taking accountability after her DUI arrest on Friday morning, November 24.
According to witnesses who called the arresting officers, Tiffany’s Tesla was parked in the middle of the road in Beverly Hills, California, while the engine was running.
Beverly Hills Police Department said they received a call around dawn, 5:45 a.m. local time, about a female in the middle of Beverly Drive while the vehicle was still running.
The “Girl’s Trip” star told Entertainment Tonight in an interview on Monday that she fell asleep at the wheel on her way home after volunteering and performing at The Laugh Factory’s annual free Thanksgiving feast.
Tiffany Haddish clarified that her Tesla parked itself when she dozed off, but it was blocking part of the road, and that was why the police were involved.
She promised to “get some help” while explaining that she was in good spirits before her arrest following a stand-up performance at the Laugh Factory for its free Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday night.
“This will never happen again. I’m going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries,” she said in the interview.
Tiffany also had kind words for the Beverly Hills Police Department, whom she complimented for their professionalism.
Before her interview with ET, the comedian had joked about the arrest during a stand-up set at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach hours after being detained on suspicion of driving under the influence.
“I prayed to God to send me a man with a job, preferably in a uniform. God answered my prayers because God believes in me,” the 43-year-old actress laughed off.
Prayers up for the comedian. We wish her all the best!
