Toni Braxton has addressed rumors circulating online about her alleged marriage to longtime boyfriend Birdman.
Fueled by comments made by her sister, Tamar Braxton, the speculations arose during an Instagram live video where she expressed confusion about Toni’s marital status.
Tamar mentioned attempting to contact Toni and even reaching out to their mother, but claimed she received no clear answers.
Tamar hinted that she wouldn’t be surprised if the rumors were true, given the couple’s long-standing relationship.
This isn’t the first time whispers of the 7-times Grammy Award winner and Birdman secretly tying the knot have surfaced. In February 2021, speculation arose after Tamar posted an image of the couple with a congratulatory caption.
However, at that time, neither Toni nor Birdman publicly confirmed or denied the rumors.
Toni Braxton swiftly responded to the recent speculation, taking to her own social media to share a reposted story about the rumored marriage, calling it “fake news.”
She clarified:
“My dear friend @birdman and I are not married…never been married. We are both single.”
The Grammy award-winning artist’s post comes after recent cozy images of the couple suggested that their relationship was still going strong.
While Toni’s statement clarifies her marital status, Birdman has not publicly commented on the situation as of now.
