Former ‘Boy Meets World’ actress Trina McGee shared the devastating news on the Tamron Hall Show. The 54-year-old actress revealed that she suffered a miscarriage just a few months after announcing her pregnancy in June.
Trina McGee is a mom to three adult children with her first husband, actor Courtland Davis. Following her pregnancy announcement, she disclosed that her fourth pregnancy was “completely natural” after taking a more holistic approach. However, it still came as a “shock” to her.
At the time, McGee shared that her pregnancy felt “very (much) like a miracle.”
During an appearance on the “Tamron Hall Show” on Monday, the actress, who played Angela Moore on the popular ’90s coming-of-age sitcom, revealed that she miscarried three months after revealing she was expecting her first child with husband Marcello Thedford in June.
Tamron Hall, the show’s host, called her out on stage to discuss her pregnancy when the actress revealed that she had lost the baby near the end of the first trimester — less than three months after telling the world about it.
“Yeah, I did lose the baby. It wasn’t expected. It was closer to the end of the first trimester. We really don’t have any real reasons why.” Despite the heartbreak, McGee expressed gratitude for the experience of conceiving at this stage in her life, adding, “I was still so grateful for having the experience to be able to conceive at this age and at this time.”
The loss has understandably taken a toll on McGee, who opened up about the emotional struggle she has faced since the miscarriage. “A lot of depression after, you know. It’s just kinda hard to get out of bed,” she revealed.
The actress spoke about the loss’s impact on her dreams of expanding her family.
“You know there are so many things that come when you want a family, and you really want your family to be complete. You have so many dreams, and yeah, it was very hard to face the fact that that’s not gonna happen at this point in the journey.”
Regarding how she became pregnant, the Friday After Next star stated that she was attempting to conceive but not in “a majorly aggressive way,” such as through IVF. The couple decided to focus on more natural remedies, hoping that something would happen if it was meant to be. Despite her age, she was looking forward to having a baby.
