“Donald Trump votes by mail… but he doesn’t want you to.” That is the pointed message from former Vice President Kamala Harris in a newly released video.

The trending video criticizes a controversial new executive order by Donald Trump that many, including Democrats in Congress, say targets Americans’ access to mail-in voting.

Speaking directly to voters, Harris accused Trump of attempting to limit a voting method he personally uses, arguing the move is politically motivated ahead of the upcoming midterm elections.

“Why do you think that is?” Harris said. “Because he is afraid of your power. And he is afraid of losing the midterms.”

Harris connects Trump’s executive order to a broader historical pattern of voting restrictions in the United States, citing tactics such as poll taxes, literacy tests, voter roll purges, and changes to polling locations as part of what she described as a long-standing strategy to limit voter participation.

She encouraged Americans to take steps to protect their access to the ballot, including checking voter registration status and confirming polling locations before Election Day.

“Make sure you know where your polling location is way before election day,” Harris said. “Let’s just do what we know we need to do, which is use our voice, use our vote to express the will of the people.”

While full details of the executive order have not yet been publicly outlined, the issue has already intensified debate over voting access and election policy, with both parties expected to make it a central issue in the lead-up to the midterms.
