Teyana Taylor trended online this week as her fans hopped onto Twitter to give the singer, actress and fashion icon her flowers.
On Monday, Taylor released her debut collection with the British online retailer, PrettyLittleThing. The “Bare With Me” singer announced her new position as the company’s new creative director shortly after announcing her retirement from the music industry at the end of last year.
Taylor’s new collection set the internet alight.
The website description says the capsule collection “encapsulates female sexuality, allowing you to own your confidence and be proud of who you are.” The description continues Taylor’s line is “an extension of her signature style, this collection pays homage to one of her favourite eras…the 90’s clashing high fashion couture and streetwear, with a mix of classic hip hop, soul and R&B.”
Taylor does not get enough props for her talent. Twitter wanted to make sure the multi-talented artist knows how we really feel about her.
Here’s how Twitter reacted:
In December, she took to Instagram on Friday to share her annual Spotify data, which showed that she had racked up 162 million streams on her songs from 15.2 million listeners.
“Wow, who did that? Y’all did that!” she wrote. “Thank you. I ain’t gone front in times of feeling super under appreciated as a artist, receiving little to no real push from the ‘machine’, constantly getting the shorter end of the stick, being overlooked, I mean the list on and on lol.” Taylor went on to add that she would be “retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that i can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work & passion put in was indeed loved & supported somewhere in the world!”
