Authorities have apprehended two women suspected of murdering a man they were allegedly in a sugar baby relationship with, in order to steal from him.
Tiffany Taylor Gray, 22, and her friend Audrey Miller, 19, are now facing charges related to the death of Fasil Teklemariam, 53, whose body was discovered on April 5th in his apartment.
According to reports from NBC 4, Teklemariam suffered from blunt force trauma and stab wounds, and one of his thumbs was severed. The police investigation revealed disturbing details suggesting the motive behind the murder.
Allegedly, Gray and Miller killed Teklemariam to access his financial accounts, including his Cashapp, using his severed thumb to bypass security measures.
Surveillance footage from Teklemariam’s apartment complex captured Gray, Miller, and two unidentified men leaving the premises in the days following the murder.
They reportedly used Teklemariam’s key fob to enter the apartment multiple times, stealing electronics, jewelry, and other items. Teklemariam’s phone last pinged near Gray’s residence in Washington, D.C., further linking her to the crime scene.
Adding to the complexity of the case, it was revealed that Teklemariam had previously reported Gray for stealing his phone and unauthorized money transfers via Cashapp.
This history, along with the gathered evidence, led to the arrest of Gray and Miller on charges of first-degree murder and armed felony murder.
While Gray and Miller are in custody, one of the men seen with them in the surveillance footage has been arrested but has not yet been formally charged.
Police continue their search for Teklemariam’s missing thumb and stolen electronic devices.
The investigation into this tragic incident remains ongoing as authorities work to uncover further details surrounding Teklemariam’s death and the events leading up to it.
