“Community” star Yvette Nicole Brown is spreading a message of hope and perseverance after marrying for the first time at the age of 53.
The beloved actress, who has inspired audiences with her wit and warmth on-screen, is now inspiring fans off-screen with a beautiful message of hope, patience, and perseverance.
Yvette Nicole Brown married actor Anthony Davis in a wedding that she describes as “intimate, classy, and fun” surrounded by 200 guests in Los Angeles on Saturday, December 14.
The “Community” actress happily said her vows in front of their closest friends, including her costars Joel McHale, Ken Jeong, Danny Pudi, Jim Rash, and Gillian Jacobs, as well as family at the Maybourne Beverly Hill.
Brown shared with PEOPLE that she felt completely confident about saying “I do.”
“I had no nerves when it came to marrying this man,” she disclosed. “He is the one for me. Absolutely.”
The ceremony also included a touching surprise when Yvette’s brother organized for their father, who has Alzheimer’s and resides in a care facility, to be present. Although their late mothers and Anthony’s late father were with them in spirit, she was thankful to have her siblings by her side on her special day, including the moment he walked her down the aisle.
For her breathtaking wedding ceremony, the actress chose a stunning yet understated mermaid-style dress designed by the talented Ines Di Santo. As she gracefully made her way down the aisle, the enchanting sounds of violinist Alan Price set the perfect romantic ambiance. Surrounding her were exquisite blush-colored florals arranged by the creative duo, Eddie Zaratsian and Tic-Tock Couture Florals, adding a touch of elegance to the occasion.
Her hair, beautifully styled by Gabrielle Corney, was complemented by a striking headpiece from Maria Elena, capturing the essence of bridal beauty. Makeup artist Beth Carter worked her magic using luxurious products from Danessa Myricks Beauty, completed with fluttery Ardell lashes that accentuated her features perfectly. Not to be overlooked, Markeisha Similton lent her expertise, ensuring every detail was flawlessly executed for this special day.
Yvette Nicole Brown and Anthony Davis first became friends in their twenties. After a few years of no contact, they re-established their connection in 2021 when Davis contacted Brown after the passing of Brown’s mother.
This marks the second marriage for Davis and the first for Brown.
