The fairytale love story of Zendaya, whose full name is Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, and Tom Holland has reached a beautiful new chapter. The Marvel stars, who first won fans’ hearts with their on-screen chemistry in Spider-Man: Homecoming, are taking their relationship to a whole new level.
Speculation about their engagement circulated last night (January 5) during the 2025 Golden Globes after the lead of Challengers was seen wearing a cushion-cut center diamond ring on her ring finger in front of photographers.
Even though Holland was not present at the event, attentive fans noticed a distinctive piece of jewelry on Zendaya’s left hand that seemed out of place among her impressive Bvlgari accessories.
TMZ reports that Tom’s proposal wasn’t just a spur-of-the-moment decision—it was a deeply thought-out and heartfelt plan months in the making. Sources close to the couple reveal that the actor, known for his traditional values, sought the blessing of Zendaya’s father, Kazembe Ajamu Coleman, before popping the question.
Meeting with Kazembe “months ago,” Tom expressed his intentions and asked for Zendaya’s hand in marriage. His respectful and thoughtful approach didn’t go unnoticed—Kazembe gave his full approval, recognizing Tom as a gentleman and a perfect match for his daughter.
Zendaya’s family couldn’t be happier about the engagement. According to insiders, they’ve been rooting for the couple since the beginning and describe Tom as “a class act” who complements Zendaya perfectly.
As for the magical proposal itself, Tom reportedly asked the big question in one of Zendaya’s family homes in the U.S. during the holiday season, somewhere between Christmas and New Year’s, keeping things intimate and meaningful.
Holland’s proposal surfaced years after the two were initially acquainted on the set of the 2017 movie Spider-Man: Homecoming. In 2021, the joyful pair seemed to be more than friends and co-stars when they were spotted kissing in a car.
