After a slew of rumors spread over the weekend about the status of Steve Harvey and his wife Marjorie Harvey’s marriage, the latter has come out to shut down the noise.
On Saturday, Marjorie, who has been married to Steve for 16 years, was accused of cheating on her husband with their bodyguard and personal chef. She has insisted that the rumors are “foolishness and lies.”
On Instagram Sunday, the 58-year-old mother of seven uploaded a screenshot of a book called How to Handle Being Lied About,” which featured a verse from the Bible.
“When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate,” the verse reads. “When he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly.”
She captioned the post: She and “Steve don’t usually address all the foolishness and lies that are spread about them,” but knows that the rumors inevitably come from being on the “platform” she is in.
“My husband and I don’t usually stop to address all the foolishness and lies that have been spread about us. However, to whom much is given, much is required,” Marjorie wrote. “I understand that with my platform comes some sort of responsibility to those that may not be as strong as we are. Read and share this with your love ones that may not know how to properly cope. God bless all of you.”
Moments before she shared the post, Steve spoke up about the rumors at an Invest Fest in Atlanta Sunday.
“Before I get started, just let me say, I’m fine. Marjorie’s fine. I don’t know what y’all doing, but find something else to do cause we fine.”
He continued: “Lord have mercy. Man. I ain’t got no time for rumors and gossip. God’s been good to me, I’m still shining.”
It is unclear who initiated the rumors about Steve and his wife.
