A 44-year-old mother from Dallas, Texas, Latuita Holland, is facing aggravated assault charges after admitting to shooting a man during a heated road rage incident on I-20 last Tuesday night.

Holland, along with her daughter Laderrika, claimed they feared for their lives as the driver of the black Chevy truck engaged in aggressive driving behavior.

According to reports from Fox 4, Latuita and her daughter were on their way to work when they encountered the truck, which they allege was driving recklessly and slamming on its brakes.

Laderrika stated that despite their efforts to maneuver away, the driver continued to harass them, ultimately stopping in the middle of the road.

It was then that Laderrika claims she saw the truck’s passenger get out of the vehicle with his hands pointed toward them, prompting her mother to fire two shots in his direction, hitting him in the stomach.

The daughter attempted to call 9-1-1 during the confrontation, but the situation escalated too quickly.

When officers arrived at the scene, they confirmed that the other driver did not have a weapon.

Holland now faces serious charges as the case develops.

The injured man remains in hospital.
