Former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has again stirred speculation about her political future, saying she “might” consider another presidential run in 2028, while clarifying that no decision has been made.

Harris made the comment during a recent conversation with McMahon, who directly asked whether she was still thinking about a future White House bid.

“You’re still thinking about it?” McMahon asked.

“I might,” Harris replied, offering a brief but telling response that has quickly reignited discussions about her potential political comeback.

The remark comes as Harris continues promoting her memoir, 107 Days, which focuses on her unsuccessful 2024 presidential campaign. McMahon said her impression after reading the book was that Harris “wants” to run again, but Harris pushed back on that interpretation.

“No, the book is about a specific period in time,” she said. “There was no agenda beyond what we’ve discussed already, which is just sharing with people the reality of the experience.”

Harris added that she intended to make the story relatable, especially to younger readers, saying she hopes audiences — including “that Girl Scout troop” she referenced — might see themselves reflected in her journey.

Pattern of Hints

This is not the first time Harris has left the door open to another presidential campaign.

In October, she told journalist Kara Swisher “maybe, maybe not” when asked about a future run. Around the same time, she also told BBC she could “possibly” see herself seeking the presidency again, while stressing she had not made any firm plans.

“I am not done,” Harris said in that interview. “I have lived my entire career as a life of service, and it’s in my bones.”

Political Implications

Harris remains one of the most prominent figures in Democratic Party politics following her historic tenure as the first female vice president of the United States.

Her repeated hints — though carefully noncommittal — are already shaping early speculation about the party’s potential field ahead of the 2028 election cycle.

For now, however, Harris continues to frame her focus on public engagement through her book and broader advocacy work, leaving her political future officially undecided — but increasingly watched.
