Andrea Wallace, the founder of Opnr, has secured $190,000 in funding to propel her entertainment marketplace, a platform designed to connect musicians with performance opportunities.
The investment marks a significant step forward for Wallace, a professional DJ and entrepreneur, as she continues her mission to streamline the booking process for artists and event organizers.
Wallace launched Opnr in 2018 as an “all-in-one data-powered” solution that provides concert organizers with analytics to book the right talent for local events.
The platform also supports musicians by offering an electronic press kit generator and FAN-CLAIM™ software, which helps artists engage with their local fanbase. Since its launch, Opnr has been used by nearly 12,000 musicians and 800 organizers, according to MLive.
Despite its growth, securing funding has been challenging. Wallace highlighted the difficulties of breaking into investment networks, particularly as a Black woman entrepreneur.
However, Opnr has received key financial backing, including $40,000 from Start Garden and $150,000 from the New Community Transformation Fund. The latter has also pledged an additional $250,000 if Opnr meets its revenue and user growth targets. Wallace aims to raise $1 million to further scale the platform.
“Excited to announce that Opnr has secured an investment from the New Community Transformation Fund,” Wallace shared on LinkedIn. “This milestone is more than just funding—it’s a testament to the work we’ve put into helping concert organizers and musicians connect in meaningful ways.”
With this investment, Wallace is set to expand Opnr’s reach, making live music events more accessible and efficient for both artists and organizers.
