“Bring back American music. It is fading away because of Afrobeats. Afrobeats is not American culture.” Some fans were not so impressed with their favorite’s dabbling in the African genre.

Chloe Bailey’s influence in Afrobeats culture keeps growing with her versatile talent. Some are super proud of her moves and dig her vocals on the beats

Others feel that their favorite may be overstretching herself by experimenting with the genre from Africa

Last year, the US music star sparked mixed reactions from Nigerians in the online community with a post about which artist would be considered for the remix of her song, ‘I Don’t Mind.’

To the delight of Nigerians, the singer tagged Rema’s official Twitter handle without holding back.

Months later, Chlöe posted a video of herself performing “Bloody Samaritan” by Ayra Starr. The musician gave the 2021 release of the song a new version in the 56-second video.

And now, her new feature on the song ‘Vision’ by Afrobeat artist Qing Madi is shaking the tapes of the internet

According to some fans, Afrobeats seems to be taking away the best of American singers with its catchy, pulsating rhythm.

“Keep it in Nigeria. Won’t get played here. We ( Americans ) tired of it,” a fan wrote.

Another added, “Bring back American music. It is fading away because “afrobeats” are not American culture.”

But others fully support Chloe’s decision to expand her wings into the fastest-growing genre in the world.

“Whenever there’s an Afrobeat collaboration with an African American, someone wants to turn it into a history lesson about Africa. Can you people just relax for once? It’s just music. You can either enjoy it or move on with your day,” someone wrote in support.

Another supported, “Say what y’all want about her, but Chloe is a star and an icon in the making. She’s the one to look out for 🔥🔥🔥.”

Peeps, let us know if you’re feeling Afro-Chloe in the comments!
