The video, which recently surfaced on social media platforms, captures the moment Latto, born Alyssa Michelle Stephens, was stopped by police for a traffic violation.
In the video, the rapper is seen and heard interacting with the officer, who explains why the stop was made. Latto, visibly surprised, remains calm and cooperative throughout the interaction.
According to the police report, Latto was pulled over for failing to stop at a red light, which can result in fines and points on a driver’s license.
The “Big Mama” lyricist was pulled over for running several red lights after celebrating a friend’s birthday at a club. Latto’s security was instructed to remain in their vehicle while the officer spoke with the rapper.
The 25-year-old explained her profession and the reason for jumping the traffic lights to the male officer. He inquired whether she had been drinking due to her location and the late hour.
Latto explained to the officer that she was a rapper before briefly adding that she had run a red light because she was “trying to hurry up and get home.”
Latto informed him that she did not have anything to drink. Nonetheless, the officer breathalyzed her. She told the truth, as she wasn’t arrested for drunk driving.
While the video does not capture the entire interaction, it concludes with the officer issuing a ticket to the rapper.
