The rumored cold war between R&B legends Beyoncé and Brandy just took a wild turn when Brandy’s official Instagram account called out a Beyoncé fan page.
Brandy is clearing her name, or at least her team is. The R&B icon found herself trending this week after some eyebrow-raising comments popped up under a Beyoncé fan page, and the internet immediately grabbed popcorn. But according to Brandy’s camp, none of it came from her. They say her account was compromised, and the singer had nothing to do with the shade that had social media buzzing.
The mess started when the popular Beyoncé fan page @kingbeyhive posted new photos of Bey on Tuesday, December 2. Suddenly, comments from Brandy’s verified Instagram account appeared under the post.
One comment read:
“That’s my outfit you down here in.”
Another took things even further:
“I dare you to come down here again and take a picture with me, it will go viral!!”
The internet froze, it’s clutching pearls and saying, “Now why would Bran say THAT?”
It wasn’t long before Brandy’s Instagram Story posted a message from management:
“The @brandy Instagram account was previously compromised, as of early morning Tuesday, December 2nd. At this time, all access has now been fully restored.”
They assured fans that Brandy is good, her account is safe, and she’s focused on the next stop of The Boy Is Mine Tour, which she launched this fall with longtime collaborator (and friendly rival) Monica.

But the timing of the whole situation had people side-eyeing hard, because just hours earlier, Brandy’s brother Ray J hopped online and lit a match of his own.
In a viral Instagram rant, Ray J called out Beyoncé and Jay-Z for allegedly attending multiple tour stops but never speaking to Brandy or taking a photo with her.
Some fans joked that Ray J himself might have been behind the comments. Others wondered if this “hack” was a little too convenient.
Still, Brandy hasn’t addressed the situation personally.
