Rapper Cardi B has publicly expressed her frustration with Child Protective Services (CPS) after an unexpected visit to her home.

Cardi B has never been one to shy away from expressing her frustrations, but her recent Instagram Live was particularly emotional. The “Bongos” rapper, who appeared visibly distressed, recounted what she feels as ongoing harassment from Child Protective Services (CPS)

In the video, Cardi shared a recording of a conversation between herself, her estranged husband, Offset, and a CPS officer, disclosing what she feels is an unfair system targeting her family.

In the video, she and her husband, Offset, pleaded with the CPS agent to understand that the allegations were unfounded. The agent explained that they were obligated to investigate any reported case of child abuse, regardless of the validity of the claims.

The CPS officer explained that anyone in New Jersey can make an anonymous call to report allegations of child endangerment, which the department must investigate.

“In the state of New Jersey, it works if anybody can pick up the phone and call the 1877 number and make allegations against anybody. We have to respond. We have to take everything absolutely seriously, and we have to investigate everything.

“It’s not to say you’re doing something wrong or your partner is doing anything wrong. They are just allegations,” the officer clarified.

Despite the reassurances, Offset voiced his frustration, questioning how they could protect their children from baseless claims. “How do we protect our children from this type of stuff, though? Because this is horrifying. When you asked my daughter to roll up her sleeves, she was confused,” he said, sounding both concerned and exasperated.

Cardi echoed his sentiments, saying, “Offset and I have millions of fans. Just because they’re our fans doesn’t mean they like us. So tomorrow someone can make an allegation, and you guys can come tomorrow,” she argued.

The CPS officer, while empathetic, admitted that the system requires all reports to be investigated, regardless of their merit. “I wish I had answers for you because you’re not the first person to ask me that question. In the state of New Jersey, anyone can make that call,” the officer explained.

Fans quickly rallied behind Cardi, flooding social media with messages of support. Many criticized the ease with which malicious reports can disrupt families, while children who really need protection are not supported enough.
