Cardi B is not one to sit quietly, especially after someone decided to over-edit Getty Images of the rapper from a Met Gala after-party and share them online, seemingly trying to knock her down a peg. Cardi clapped back in true Bardi style!

It all started with a now-suspended X user, @ordinarycourt, who reportedly posted side-by-side photos of Cardi’s Met Gala after-party look, writing, “This can’t be real, omg.” It seems one image was the original, allegedly from Getty Images, and the other was a clearly altered version. Of course, the internet being the internet, others jumped in to pile on, mocking Cardi’s appearance. We don’t even know exactly what was changed in the edited photo since that account is now gone, but you know it wasn’t flattering.

But you can’t come for Cardi B and expect her to stay silent. She responded with a video of herself, completely makeup-free and without any filters, lip-syncing to Lady Gaga’s “G.U.Y.” Her message was crystal clear: “Am I really that bad of a bitch that y’all always gotta edit my pictures to fake try to humble me wit insults on this app? Anyway, there was no filter, no makeup, just me and this wig I had on for days. THANK YOU!!”

When one particularly nasty commenter replied, saying Cardi “reeks of insecurity like it’s getting sad,” Bardi fired right back.

“I’m insecure, or do I make y’all insecure to the point that you gotta go pull up my pictures, then open an app and edit them because y’all can’t stand how hard I step???” Cardi B fired back.

Let’s not forget that Cardi absolutely slayed at the Met Gala itself, working with Burberry’s Creative Director, Daniel Lee, on a stunning green embroidered coat and matching trousers. And her after-party look, a black lace-up corset-style gown, was equally fierce.

Cardi B even spoke with Vogue recently about the pressure of the Met Gala, admitting, “It’s actually more intimidating now because I’m competing with like myself, really. Everybody’s always expecting so much from me. Especially here because they know that this is my department, which, you know, it’s overwhelming, but I love it. It just makes me sense like it’s like I’m really a superstar ’cause only the superstars get invited.”

Why go to such lengths to tear someone down online?
