Apparently, the judge who appointed the professional guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, for Wendy Williams had been previously investigated for granting guardianship to people who donated to her Supreme Court election campaign.
After premiering the Lifetime documentary “Where Is Wendy Williams?”, there has been a steady stream of news about the former talk-show host’s court-appointed guardianship.
Many people wondered why a professional guardian was appointed to Wendy Williams when her family said they were willing to take on the role.
In early 2022, Wells Fargo froze Williams’ bank accounts and petitioned for temporary financial guardianship over the former talk show host, claiming she is an “unsound mind.”
At that time, Wendy’s son, Kevin Hunter Jr., was taking care of her. But Wells Fargo bank lawyers filed their petition insisting that he was an unfit guardian and accused him of frivolously spending his mother’s money.
According to Wells Fargo, they believe the former TV host is under undue influence and financial exploitation after she attempted to switch banks while staying with family in Miami.
Although Wendy Williams and her legal team are disputing this claim and working to reclaim control of her finances, their efforts have been unsuccessful.
Now, peeps dug up some eerily disturbing news about Judge Lisa Sokoloff, the judge who ruled over the bank petition and threatened Kevin Jr. with kidnapping charges if he didn’t hand his mother over.
In an article written by ABC7NY back in January 2023, Sokoloff was once investigated for awarding people guardianship appointments to people who donated to her campaign.
“Manhattan judge Judge Lisa Sokoloff received $5,720 in campaign donations from 2019-2022 from 20 guardianship lawyers, law firms or people who deal in guardianship cases and awarded those same people or law firms 62 appointments in 2022,” the report stated.
Even though it’s not known if Wendy’s current guardian, Sabrina, donated to the Judge’s Supreme Court campaign, this information has raised more eyebrows.
Wendy Williams’ health has been on a sharp decline since being diagnosed with aphasia and dementia.
