Dawn Richards accused Aubrey O’Day of trying to short-change ‘Danity Kane’ by having relationships with the managers.
Richards did not hold back while explaining what happened to her former girl’s band, Danity Kane.
During a sit down with Wild Wayne, Dawn Richards pointed the finger at her former bandmate Aubrey O’Day for being the cause of Danity Kane’s split.
According to the Louisianian, O’Day started ‘sleeping’ with the managers to get side deals over the other girls in the group.
“We did a show at Six Flags, and we were all in different trailers. We were in Texas, maybe. We all came in different cars, and we were all in different trailers. And I found out later that Aubery had like full-on relationships with our managers,” Richards continued. “So she was protected in a sense. And it didn’t make other people comfortable. And I think that was the last straw.”
Dawn Richards continued explaining how the managers cut deals for Aubrey O’Day.
“She was getting offers to go to Broadway without that group. We were performing, but she wouldn’t show up. We would be doing the show and be like, let’s go. And she wouldn’t come, and that affected the group members.”
The New Orleans explained that O’Day started to get belligerent, even towards Diddy, ultimately leading to Diddy firing her on live TV.
“We couldn’t talk to Puff that way because it would not fly. W would be the “angry black woman.” But he gave her that leniency. She got real comfortable,” Richards disclosed.

In 2019, Aubrey O’Day took shots at her former boss, Sean “Diddy” Combs, over the group’s death. According to her, Diddy broke them up at the height of Danity Kane’s fame.
And she still holds some resentment when she reacted with a tweet, “What you sow, you shall reap,” after Diddy’s Homes were raided in connection with a human trafficking investigation.
