A mother, federal officer, and beloved member of her community, Desiree Chanel Brown, was fatally shot last weekend.
Unknown assailants opened fire on a vehicle in northeast Miami-Dade, killing her and critically injuring two children inside.
The triple shooting took place early Saturday morning near Northeast 2nd Court and 141st Street, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
Brown, her 11-year-old daughter, Reagan, and her boyfriend’s 12-year-old son were all found inside the vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.

Brown, who worked as a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer at Miami International Airport since 2023, later died at the hospital. The two children are currently hospitalized and continue to fight for their lives.
Her mother, Fannie Brown, spoke with NBC6, expressing deep heartbreak over the violent and senseless loss of her only daughter.
“Everybody loved her. Beautiful on the outside, beautiful on the inside,” she said. “This was senseless. It didn’t have to happen at all.”
Brown’s daughter Reagan is facing multiple surgeries as the family pleads for answers and justice. No arrests have been made, and investigators have not released a motive.

TSA released a statement mourning Brown’s death:
“We are deeply saddened to learn of her passing and send our condolences to her family, friends and colleagues.”
Brown’s death comes after a series of tragic losses in her family, including the deaths of her father, son, and grandparents in separate accidents.
Just last week, she took her 14-year-old daughter to prom—a bittersweet memory that now stands as one of the last moments her daughters will share with their mother.
“She’s not walking through that door,” Fannie said tearfully. “So I have to cope with my granddaughters… but with my faith in God, trust in God, I will get through this one too.”
The family is asking anyone with information to come forward and for those responsible to turn themselves in.
