During her Houston, Texas Valentine’s Day show last week, Kendall Taylor re-proposed to Fantasia in front of a packed crowd. The couple, married for 11 years, shared the spotlight as Kendall presented her with an 11-carat diamond ring, renewing their commitment in a grand gesture that drew cheers from the audience.
Shortly after the proposal, Joseph Barrino took to Facebook with strong criticism. In a post dated Feb. 15, he dismissed the proposal as “Fake Cry Bull Crap” and alleged that Kendall was returning some of Fantasia’s “missing money.” He referenced what he described as a fired financial committee that could not account for funds and urged followers to “pray for Fantasia.” Barrino later went live on Facebook, repeating his claim that Kendall was involved in missing money.
Fantasia responded in a now-deleted Instagram post. The singer shared her father’s mugshot and directly addressed his accusations. “I wasn’t Going to do this, but this has Gotten Out of Hand,” she wrote. “I can’t even call you Dad or a Father, you are a DONOR!!!” She stated that she and her mother had long covered for him and accused him of coming after her husband. Fantasia made it clear she stands by Kendall, writing that she is the CEO and Kendall is the president of all their companies, questioning how money could be stolen under that structure.
She concluded her message by saying she planned to go live later to “finish the war” she said her father started. The post was later deleted, leaving it unclear whether she will still address the situation publicly on Instagram Live.
The dispute has shifted attention from what began as a celebratory Valentine’s Day proposal to a very public family conflict, with Fantasia firmly defending her marriage and business partnership with Kendall Taylor.
