Supporters of Wendy Williams are taking their fight to the streets. The ‘#FreeWendy’ movement, launched by her longtime fans, is organizing nationwide rallies on April 1 to demand the end of her court-ordered guardianship.
Despite recent reports about her condition, Williams remains in the same memory care facility under the legal oversight of court-appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey.
Fans argue that the former talk show queen has no control over her own affairs and that her rights are being restricted without justification.
The movement’s organizers have scheduled peaceful protests in two major cities:
- New York City – 10 AM EST at Coterie Hudson Yards
- Los Angeles – 10 AM PST at Wendy’s Hollywood Walk of Fame star

Demonstrators will hold signs, wear ‘Free Wendy’ merchandise, distribute petitions, and push for transparency regarding her well-being and legal status.
The rally follows reports that Williams recently passed a psychological evaluation, further fueling concerns over the necessity of her guardianship.
The ‘#FreeWendy’ campaign began in 2022 after Williams’ finances and personal affairs were placed under court control, with Judge Lisa Sokoloff overseeing the case. Fans and advocates insist that she should regain autonomy over her life, arguing that the legal arrangement is unjust.
With growing public outcry, the rallies aim to put pressure on those involved in Williams’ case and bring renewed attention to her ongoing legal battle.
