Gymnastics star Gabby Douglas is set to take her place among the greatest legends in American sports as she headlines the 2025 U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Hall of Fame, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) announced this week.

Douglas, a three-time Olympic gold medalist and the first Black woman to win the Olympic all-around gymnastics title, leads a class that also includes track icon Allyson Felix, tennis legend Serena Williams, and coaching titan Mike Krzyzewski.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for July 12, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Douglas’s selection follows a comprehensive nomination and voting process that drew over 300,000 fan votes—a testament to her enduring impact and popularity.

At just 16 years old, Douglas captured the world’s attention during the 2012 London Olympics, where she made history by winning both the all-around and team gold medals, a first for any American gymnast.

She later added a second team gold at the 2016 Rio Games, bringing her total to six medals across Olympic and World Championship competition.

“Gabby Douglas not only broke records—she broke barriers,” said USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland. “Her extraordinary accomplishments and the path she paved for future generations embody the spirit of Team USA.”

Douglas’s influence goes beyond medals. As a symbol of representation, perseverance, and excellence, she has inspired countless young athletes, particularly young Black girls, who now see themselves reflected at the pinnacle of the sport.

The 2025 Hall of Fame class is notable for its depth and diversity. It highlights athletes and contributors who’ve shaped the United States’ Olympic and Paralympic legacy.
