The simmering co-parenting feud between singer Halle Bailey and rapper DDG has erupted into a viral firestorm, with both sides of the drama sparking heated debates online. Days after DDG claimed Halle was limiting his access to their 1-year-old son, Halo, the Little Mermaid star broke her silence—but not in the way fans expected.

In a YouTube video posted Friday, the 26-year-old rapper aired his frustrations, calling the situation a “last resort” plea. “It’s been going on for a minute,” DDG claimed, alleging he’s only allowed “minimal” time with Halo and was recently “kicked out” during a visit. The couple, who split in October 2023 after two years together, welcomed their son in December 2023 and had previously presented a united front.

“Every single day or every other day, I’m trying to see him. I’m trying to get him to come over,” he shared. “I never get him dropped off. I always go pick him up. I live far as shit. So I’m driving hours to go get him, and I get there, and I can’t get him, or I can’t see him.”

DDG continued, ” “I planned my whole day to be with him. My whole day was around that, and then I get there, and I’m kicked out of the crib, can’t see him.”

As DDG’s claims trended, Halle remained conspicuously quiet—until a resurfaced Snapchat video revealed she’d announced a social media hiatus days prior. In the clip, the Grown-ish star, looking visibly fatigued, explained she and Halo are battling RSV (respiratory syncytial virus), a contagious illness that can be severe in infants.

“Me and Halo are very sick. We have RSV, and we do not feel good at all. So sorry I haven’t been posting Snaps, but I’ve just been using all my energy to take care of my baby and myself,” Bailey said in the resurfaced clip.

The ‘Grown-ish’ actress also invited her followers, particularly mothers, to share their advice on managing their illness. At that moment, Halle mentioned that both she and Halo were experiencing fevers intermittently. She also noted they were following a treatment plan involving plenty of medicine, rest, and hydration.

The ambiguity has ignited theories. Some argue Halle’s health update pre-dates DDG’s video, noting her Snapchat was posted earlier in the week. Others speculate it’s a strategic response, leveraging her maternal image amid criticism.

Amid this battle of “he said, she said,” baby Halo remains the quietest—and most important—player.
