The “Little Mermaid” star, Halle Bailey, and the rapper, DDG, announced the arrival of their first child Saturday evening.
On January 7, DDG announced his latest venture to his fans. The 26-year-old rapper outdoored his new daily lifestyle vlog on YouTube, featuring his then-pregnant girlfriend, Halle.
During the first sixty seconds of the 14-minute clip, DDG gave viewers a look at one of the Disney actress’s 4K ultrasounds, followed by a short clip of him playfully caressing her baby bump and their baby moon in Bora Bora.
Before unveiling their new baby, DDG featured him in the music video for “Darryl Freestyle,” released Saturday.
The short clip shows DDG cradling a baby in a white blanket before the video flashes to another scene.
The “I’m Geekin” rapper also seemingly gave a shoutout to his girlfriend in the lyrics.
“Silver Spoon kid. I know Halo doesn’t want for nothing. He crying. His mama coming. She’s stronger than Wonder Woman,” he rapped.
This isn’t the first time DDG placed Halle on a pedestal after their son was born. In his new volg, the rapper shared that he has a “newfound respect” for women after watching Bailey give birth to their son.
Additionally, he titled the vlog “I’m A Dad Now”, and opened up about his new role and the change in his and Bailey’s life.
“I’m a dad. I’m a dad, y’all. I have a son — I have a baby boy. He’s a newborn. He was actually born last year [but] we were just waiting on the right time to basically break the news or whatever. It’s been a lot of speculation…”
DDG also commended fans for their “detective” skills while explaining that keeping “the news” to themselves was challenging.
