‘ICE Doesn’t Just Target Latinos’: Woman Warns Black Communities To Stay Vigilant

by Gee NY

As U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) ramps up raids across Southern California, speaker and entrepreneur CEDONI is urging Black communities to wake up to the growing threat of immigration enforcement—and the broader implications for civil liberties under a potential second Trump administration.

In a viral Instagram video, CEDONI, whose full name is Sudoni and who immigrated from Trinidad and Tobago as a baby, draws on her personal experience to sound the alarm.

“ICE is not just looking for Latino immigrants,” she says. “ICE will make their way into Flatbush, into Harlem, into the Bronx—and they will take whoever doesn’t look the part as a U.S. citizen.”

Speaking passionately, CEDONI challenges the belief circulating in some circles that the latest wave of immigration crackdowns is not relevant to Black Americans.

“That is factually incorrect,” she states, warning that “Trump and his MAGA cronies are a threat to our democracy… a threat to the Republic.”

She recounts the long and emotional path to becoming a U.S. citizen at age 17, despite having spent her entire life in New York City.

“The place I considered home did not consider me one of them until I was 17 years old,” she recalls.

CEDONI’s message is clear: the erosion of civil rights through targeted immigration enforcement is not someone else’s problem—it’s everyone’s

“The 14th Amendment is exactly that—an amendment. It can be changed,” she warns, comparing the current climate to dangerous patterns seen in world history.

As deportation fears grow and marginalized communities brace for what could lie ahead, CEDONI’s message underscores the urgency of solidarity, vigilance, and civic engagement.
