Amber Rose is once again at the center of conversation after sharing her views on biracial identity during a recent interview, where she stated that people of mixed heritage should not identify as Black.

Speaking on Big Drive, Amber Rose explained that she does not see herself as either Black or white, despite her background. She said, “Biracial people are not black people. We are just not,” adding that while others may choose to identify differently, she believes it is not accurate for someone with one white parent to claim a solely Black identity.

In her remarks, she referenced Colin Kaepernick as an example of someone who identifies as Black, noting that it is ultimately a personal choice. She also pointed to Drake, suggesting that criticism toward him stems from his openness about his Jewish and white heritage.

“Biracial people are not black people. We are just not. Now, if there are other biracials, like Kaepernick, who identify as black, then his prerogative; he can do what he wants. I just think it’s delusional to say that you’re a black person when you have a whole white parent. That’s why they pick on Drake. They pick on Drake because Drake embraces his Jewish white side. He embraces that side wholeheartedly, and they (black people) don’t like that.”

Amber Rose’s comments have resurfaced a stance she has expressed in the past. In a February 2015 interview on Ebro in the Morning on Hot 97, she stated clearly that she does not consider herself a Black woman. At the time, she emphasized that she identifies as biracial and prefers to embrace all aspects of her background rather than align with a single identity.

Born to a white father and a mother of Cape Verdean descent, Amber Rose has consistently described herself as biracial in public conversations. She has also spoken about acknowledging multiple cultural influences, including her Italian roots, rather than choosing one side over another.

Her latest remarks have brought renewed attention to her long-held perspective on race and identity, continuing a conversation she has revisited over the years.
