Rapper Akbar V has made the difficult decision to file for divorce from her husband, Bean, only one year after they announced their marriage. The “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” star took to social media to share the news with her fans, explaining why she chose to address the issue publicly.
In June 2023, Akbar V hinted that she married or got engaged to her man Da R,eal Bean a.k., a.k.a. 24st. She announced the then-good news with a picture of her hugging her husband while posing under a neon sign that reads, “Just Married.”
In the caption, she wrote, “I said yes …. @bean24st ( with a heart emoji) I want to do right by God.”
Bean reposted Akbar V’s post on his Instagram Story. He also shared congratulatory messages that he received from his friends in his stories.
However, some fans were skeptical that Akbar would find a happy ending with Bean. Others argued that his energy wasn’t right. And maybe they were right after all.
Akbar V shared the news of her divorce with her fans, revealing the emotional turmoil she has been experiencing in recent months. She also explained that the decision was mutual and that she and Bean remain on amicable terms.
“I think this was the best decision I could make for me and Bean,” she wrote. “He told me this was cool to post… I want him to be free and find someone who fits him.”
The rapper admitted to going through a difficult time in recent months but ultimately chose to prioritize her own well-being. “I’m at peace with my decisions,” she added. Certain things in life may be uncomfortable, but God will get you through it.”
Akbar V acknowledged the difficulties of making such a life-altering decision but maintained that it was for the best. “Certain things in life be uncomfortable, but God will get you through it,” she said, adding that she had no more to give and was now focused on her children and her career. “Anything that’s left in me is for my kids and career.”
Akbar V’s announcement may not come as a surprise to many fans. The rapper and her husband clashed on social media recently after he said their daughter isn’t “fighting for her life,” as the rapper publicly stated.
