Jess Hilarious is weighing in on the bombshell $260 million sexual harassment lawsuit against media mogul Tyler Perry. And according to her, it’s giving… scam.
During a news segment on The Breakfast Club with Loren, Jess didn’t hold back while reacting to the accusations. With her signature blunt delivery, she said:
“I really, honestly, feel like maybe they were dealing with each other, someone got mad over something. And then, now, he wants to come out and say, ‘I need $260 million.’ Everything sounds consensual. Everything sounds like they were talking.”
The lawsuit in question comes from actor Derek Dixon, who appeared on Perry’s long-running TV drama The Oval. Filed last week in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the suit accuses Perry of using his industry power to create a coercive and “sexually exploitative dynamic.”
According to the legal documents, Dixon claims Perry made unwanted sexual advances on multiple occasions between 2020 and 2021, including allegedly sneaking into Dixon’s bed, groping him in a trailer, and even grabbing his throat “violently.” He also accuses Perry of retaliating after he distanced himself by manipulating his role on the show and dangling unfulfilled promises of career advancement.
But Jess Hilarious isn’t buying it, at least not entirely.
“Everything in that situation just sounds like it was mutual until something didn’t go someone’s way,” she implied, clearly skeptical of the timing and the lawsuit’s hefty nine-figure demand.
Tyler Perry, for his part, has fiercely denied the claims. His legal team called the lawsuit a shakedown attempt, with attorney Matthew Boyd stating:
“This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. Tyler will not be shaken down, and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail.”
Despite the lawsuit outlining a series of disturbing allegations, including claims of manipulation, threats to kill off Dixon’s character, and a failed attempt to develop Dixon’s own show. Jess seems to think the whole thing smells more like revenge than justice.
Social media has since lit up, with opinions pouring in from both sides. Some say Jess is being too dismissive of a serious issue. In contrast, others agree the case feels suspicious, mainly since Dixon stayed on the show for years after the first alleged incident.
Now, it’s up to the actual courts to decide what’s real and what’s reaching.
