Actress Kerry Washington is set to be immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame with the 2,796th star, celebrating her three-decade career and groundbreaking contributions to entertainment.
Known for her trailblazing role as Olivia Pope in Scandal, Washington made history as the first Black woman to headline a network TV drama since 1974.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which oversees the iconic Walk of Fame, expressed admiration for Washington’s achievements.
“Her extraordinary talent and dedication to her craft have not only made her a beloved actress but also an inspiration to many,” said Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony producer.
Washington’s star will be unveiled in a ceremony attended by notable industry figures, including Tyler Perry and Shonda Rhimes.
The Bronx-born actress and Emmy-winning producer has long been celebrated for her talent and advocacy, cementing her place as a cultural icon.
