Kylee Owens, daughter of NFL Hall of Famer Terrell Owens, has solidified her place as a standout athlete by being named to the 2024 AVCA DI All-Americans Honorable Mention Team for women’s volleyball.
This prestigious honor recognizes her exceptional contributions to Prairie View A&M University’s Lady Panthers volleyball team.
As an outside hitter, Owens has had a phenomenal season, tallying 355 kills, 47 aces, and 318 digs. She also broke the 1,000 career kills milestone, a testament to her skill, dedication, and impact on the court.
Her efforts earned her the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Volleyball Player of the Year award and a spot on the All-SWAC First Team, adding to an impressive list of accolades.
“This is another huge accolade for Kylee, and I am so excited for her,” praised Lady Panthers Head Coach Cheri Lindsay. “She definitely deserves all of these accolades that she has worked hard to get here.”

Athletic excellence runs in Kylee’s family. Her father, Terrell Owens, is celebrated as one of the greatest wide receivers in NFL history, with multiple records, accolades, and a 2018 induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Her brother, Terique Owens, also inherited the family’s athletic prowess, signing with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent following his collegiate football career at Missouri State University.
Kylee’s decision to bring her talents to an HBCU highlights the increasing recognition of Historically Black Colleges and Universities as a nurturing ground for exceptional talent.
Her success story proves the importance of hard work and perseverance, qualities she undoubtedly absorbed from her father’s celebrated career.
As Kylee continues to shine, she not only elevates her team and school but also sets an inspiring example for aspiring student-athletes across the nation.
