A Los Angeles-based artist has filed a civil suit against rapper Rubi Rose accusing the star of damaging expensive pieces of artwork while she filmed a music video.
In court filings obtained by TMZ, Analia Saban states that Rose and her cinematography team let off a high-pressure fire hose while shooting her Twork video, causing irreparable damages to her sculptures.
Saban is requesting $300,000 in damages. According to her website, her artwork – described as “sculptures and textiles [that] disrupt traditional notions of painting and blur the boundaries between artistic disciplines – retails at $3,500 and above.
This is not the first time Rose has found herself involved in scandal. In August, the He in His Feelings star stated that it was okay if non-Black people used the N-word.
The 25-year-old Kentucky rapper was on a recent Twitch episode when she mistook the host for a Black man. When he corrected her and said he was white, he asked her if it was okay with him to use the N-word.
“I’m personally OK with anybody saying it, as long at their intent isn’t to be rude,” she said. “Because I’m sure, Adin, you love Black people. You have a lot of Black people on your channel, you love Black music, probably.”
She added: “So, as long as the person isn’t saying it with malicious intent, personally, ’cause I have like Mexican homegirls and white homegirls who be saying it, I don’t care about other people. We’re friends and they are cool with it.”
Fans took to Twitter to denounce her comments.
“Dear White Folk,” one user wrote. “Just know Rubi Rose was speaking for herself and herself only. Do not go around saying n*gga because she said it’s ok.”
Another tweeted: “Rubi rose pretty but got 2 teaspoons of brain just floating in her head cause girl what.”
