Latto’s exciting ‘Brokey’ collaboration with a former Waffle House employee has ignited a social media storm after photos of the partnership were uploaded online.
Yadira Ramirez, a Waffle House employee, reportedly lost her job after participating in Latto’s viral “Brokey” Challenge while on duty.
Latto declared a $10K “Brokey” Challenge prize to “apologize” after some fans felt personally attacked by the lyrics to her viral hit, arguing that she was shading hard workers.
Unfortunately, Ramirez lost her job because she participated in the viral TikTok challenge. The now-popular social media site shared with her followers that she had been fired and placed on the EFR list, so she couldn’t be rehired.
Fortunately, Latto fulfilled her promise and awarded her the $10,000 prize for winning the ‘Brokey’ challenge. The Atlanta rapper kept her word but also made an effort to meet with her in person.
In a viral meet-up clip on social media, the new BFFs (Latto and @yadirajramirez) share a moment twerking and showing off the cash prize while “Brokey” played in the background.
The pair have met again to team up for another viral ‘Brokey’ moment, this time with a bold reference to their Waffle House connection.
Latto took a playful jab at the food chain, holding a plate of waffles topped with butter and syrup while giving a slightly sassy or nonchalant expression.
The backdrop of the photos features a retro-themed setting draped in pink hues.
Fans have flocked to Twitter and Instagram to point out the waffle reference while applauding Latto for being true to her fans.
“Dang, I should’ve said I got fired too,” a fan wrote.
Another added, “Yassssssss👏 sometimes the rejection is the elevation!”
Another fan wrote, “They fired her from her job, and now she hangs with Latto. I know they’re sick😂.”
For Latto, it seems no one is off-limits—not even Waffle House!
