The furry companion Lupita Nyong’o brought onto the carpet wasn’t just any pet. It was one of the actor’s costars from her new horror flick, A Quiet Place: Day One, which promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.
Lupita Nyong’o, the Oscar-winning actor, replaced her cat purse with the real thing just hours after she made a statement with the fake one on the red carpet.
And no, it wasn’t the return of the pet-as-fashion-accessory trend!
The Academy Award winner graced the London red carpet for her upcoming film, A Quiet Place: Day One, with an unlikely costar: a live cat wearing a bow tie.
It turns out that the cat, Schnitzel, is well-known on its own and appears in the upcoming movie (you can even see them in the trailer). Wearing a bowtie and polka-dot bandana in black and white, Schnitzel is obviously stylish.
For the press event, Nyong’o opted for an Akris pantsuit in pink lemonade. Her go-to stylist, Micaela Erlanger, dressed her in a striking outfit that included two front pockets and a double-breasted blazer with grapefruit-colored buttons.
Because the linen suit was a little sheer, the pair wore a bubblegum top underneath that showed through the blazer’s lapels. They also added a pair of white pumps with pointed tips.
As for her glam, the star played up her pink look with rosy cheeks and glossy berry-colored lips.
With her accessories, Nyong’o went all out. She wore a matching cuff bracelet and a wide, sparkling diamond collar necklace that resembled a web of gems. She then added a big silver ring and some diamond earrings. Schnitzel, for his part, looked dapper in his red carpet attire thanks to his black bowtie and bandanna with white polka dots.
Nyong’o also chose one of her signature hairstyles, a gorgeous side-part look.
