Karen Dunlap, a 30-year-old social media influencer from Prince George’s County, Maryland, known online as “Reyna,” was found deceased in an abandoned building in Cleveland, Ohio, on Jan. 18, 2025.

Dunlap had been missing since the fall of 2024 after traveling to Ohio and had not posted on social media since January 1, raising concerns among her family and followers.

Dunlap’s family, devastated by her sudden and mysterious death, is pleading for answers. Her mother, Karen Jones, and sister, Kira Dunlap, expressed their grief in an emotional interview with WUSA9.

“I feel like somebody kicked a hole through my soul, and the biggest part of my heart is gone,” Jones said. “The worst is just not knowing.”

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of death and have no leads on what happened to Dunlap in the months leading up to her tragic discovery. The family has started a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral expenses and hire a private investigator to assist in uncovering the truth.

Dunlap’s family speculates that she may have traveled to Cleveland to audition for the reality show Baddies Midwest, a program she was a fan of.

However, they have no confirmation of this and remain in the dark about her reasons for being in the area. They are awaiting the results of her toxicology report, which they hope will provide clarity about the circumstances surrounding her death.

“We always expected she was going to be okay,” Kira Dunlap told WUSA9. “But I can’t really even function that well knowing I don’t know how my own big sister died.”

In the days following the discovery of her body, Dunlap’s family traveled to Cleveland to distribute flyers and speak with locals. At least two individuals recognized Dunlap and reported that she appeared to be in good health when they saw her. However, no one could provide information about why she was in Cleveland or who she was with.

The family is now urging anyone with information about Dunlap’s whereabouts between late October and early November—whether in Cleveland or around College Park, Maryland—to come forward. Tips can be reported to the Cleveland tip line at 216-252-7463.

Karen Dunlap’s untimely death has left her family, friends, and online community heartbroken.

As they seek answers, her story is a stark reminder of the dangers that can accompany the pursuit of dreams and the importance of staying connected with loved ones.
