Following the tragic stabbing of her 19-year-old daughter, Samyia Spain, outside a Brooklyn deli, Lashawn Goodson, the grieving mother, has bravely stepped forward to share her anguish and seek justice for her beloved daughter.

Recalling the heart-wrenching events, Goodson recounted how the tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning as Samyia and her twin sister visited a Park Slope deli for a late-night meal.

What began as a routine outing turned fatal when a man, whose advances the sisters rebuffed, turned violent.

Despite the deli owner’s attempts to intervene and protect the twins by locking the doors, the man persisted.

As Samyia confronted him outside the deli, a confrontation ensued, resulting in her untimely death.

Expressing her profound grief and disbelief, Goodson lamented the senseless loss of her daughter’s life, emphasizing the injustice of Samyia’s death for simply declining unwanted advances.

In an emotional plea for justice, Goodson directed her words to her daughter’s assailant, expressing her fervent desire for the perpetrator to face the full consequences of his actions.

“I just want him to suffer every day like I am,” Goodson said. “I want him to wake up every day in a cell, just like I have to wake up with my mind in a cell.”

Meanwhile, the man spotted in the now-viral video that took place before the altercation turned himself in on Friday, March 22. His identity was revealed to be a 20-year-old Veo Kelly.

His charges are murder, assault and weapons possession.
